What the Experts Say
Dear Maya,
In a somewhat unexpected manner, I got a look at your five new books, and I was so impressed that I asked to purchase them all. They are so original, creative, exciting, and surprising that I wanted to see them on my bookshelf at home and show them to everyone I know. I want you to know that you have a shelf in my house.
In my work as a psychologist and bibliotherapist I use a lot of books, loan books from my shelves to anyone who asks for them, and recommend books I think are suitable for others. Since I work mainly with adults, I recommend your books for their children, although I was delighted to discover that adults also enjoy reading them and tell me about ideas they sparked when they read them together with their children.
I find your writing very refreshing, genuine, and not patronizing, and it is clear to me that children can find themselves among and within the pages.
I wanted very much to share my feelings with you and to encourage you to continue creating. The aesthetic aspect of your work, and your great love for books and for beauty rises from every page. I wish you the very best.
Yours truly and gratefully,
Ivria Gal, Clinical Psychologist, Bibliotherapist

Maya Keshet's Children’s Books—Recommendation
The five books written, illustrated, and produced by Maya Keshet deal with different aspects of the world of children.
In terms of their content, they are suitable for children aged 3-8. Maya touches
In the midst of my life…I suddenly discovered 5 books that are breathtakingly beautiful, sensitive, and charming. Each of them touched me and my daughters, arousing an emotional reaction in both young and old.
A mother burnt by a pan who forgot to explain why she was
"prickly" (or me rushing in the morning and therefore impatient), and my young daughter who said when we read it together, "Really, Mom, we ought to say something and talk about it right away."
The tremendous sensitivity and love for animals is apparent in all the books, and the choice of nonconventional animals and the setting aside of stereotypes (the blond Barbie-like mermaid) make the books original and highly meaningful.
The specially designed covers made it difficult to pass up even one of the books, and we have started collecting them. We're looking forward to the next ones.
